Earlier this year I did a couple of school talks about game development at local Filipino schools and the Philippines Game Festival. It was a really great experience going over how games are made and our current projects at Funguy studios. The talks reminded me of our monthly Student Game Developers Association meetings at the Art Institute of Phoenix. Public speaking can be terrifying but I found if you throw in a bit of fun and wackiness it is a great ice breaker with a crowd and also creates an event that you can look forward to instead of dreading. This is why I will throw in an explosion tied to a key press or a funny Photoshop mash up.
You can find a link going over one of these talks here.
Quote “The seminar ended with fulfilment and satisfaction on both the organizer and participants. Indeed, it has become a very successful event and the student-organizer also gain support from the faculties of the Computer Department.”
Wow fulfillment and satisfaction. Your too nice 😉
